Members/Supporters

The CLTA welcomes the participation of those organizations and individuals who believe in the importance of voluntary conservation of natural and cultural heritage properties.

The CLTA offers the following two categories of members and supporters.

Associate members – an Associate member is a not for profit corporation which may have charitable status and which as all or part of its mission, actively works to conserve land by undertaking or assisting in land acquisition or conservation agreements, or by engaging in stewardship of such land or conservation agreements. Provincial land trust alliances meeting the requirements of associate membership will be considered associate members by virtue of their role assisting others in land conservation. As a condition of membership all associate members must provide written confirmation of the organization’s acceptance/adoption of the 2005 Canadian Land Trust Standards and Practices as the ethical and technical guidelines for the responsible operation of a land trust and their organization commits to making continual progress toward the implementation of these standards and practices. This should be in the form of a Board resolution or motion or in the case of a large organization written confirmation from senior management staff.

Supporters – A Supporter includes government, public agencies, quasi-governmental organizations, non-government organizations and corporations, allied professionals and individuals that have an interest in the land trust movement.
